Indigenous Ministry Exposure Trips
embody, along with our parent organisation Global Mission Partners (GMP) and Indigenous Ministries Australia (IMA), is committed to partnering with and among Australian Indigenous people. embody Exposure Trips seek to face into God’s reconciliation mission, honestly confront Australia’s settler history and the impact it has had on Australia’s First Peoples, develop cultural intelligence, and build networks of mutual friendship and support between Indigenous and settler Australians.
embody hosts exposure trips to two key locations.
Juraki: Juraki is an Indigenous surf and culture event running annually on the beautiful beaches of Fingal Head, NSW. embody, working with our friends at IMA, takes a small group of young people to witness Juarki’s celebration of sand, surf, and Indigenous culture and resilience. (August 2019)
Dareton: GMP supports the work of Dareton Youth and Community Drop-in Centre in Dareton, NSW. On this trip, our friends at IMA will take a small team to visit the Dareton community, engage with the locals, learn about culture, and explore how we can most effectively and most helpfully support the work of local leaders and communities. (November/December 2019)
